Small drywall repairs

Nobody likes the look of ugly ceiling water stains. Especially if company is coming.

It’s not easy to repair drywall – especially on your ceilings. Plus, it’s messy. Do-it-yourself repairs often go unfinished.

Avoid uneven finishes, colour differences, and dust flying everywhere. Make your drywall repairs disappear.

Unless you hire a pro, ugly water stains will remain, and be embarrassing every time you see them. They’re not easy to fix, with DIY results often looking sub-par due to lack of tools or skill.

Finishing your ceiling takes considerable skill and specailised equipment, like the team at DustEase has.

DustEase Drywall Repairs and Home Improvements is licensed, insured with liability, carries WCB, and is a trusted member of the BBB (police background checks included). Additionally, the owner/operator Ed, is a certified Water Damage Restoration Technician (issued by the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration).

We’re led by Edmund Knude. His decades of experience spans residential and commercial improvements. Ed has overseen commercial tenant improvements as a site superintendent for AvisonYoung Project Management Services. He’s no stranger to drywall and construction dust; it spreads, even when work areas are hoarded off.

At DustEase, we achieve a virtually dust-free environment by utilizing the full Planex Drywall Sanding System. We do not rely on standard household vacuums; our process uses professional, heavy-duty extraction equipment engineered to capture dust at the source:

  • Certified HEPA Filtration: The final stage of our system filters out 99.97% of airborne particles down to 0.3 microns, keeping your home’s air perfectly clean and safe.
  • The Planex Sanding Head: Uses a multi-hole pad design paired with premium mesh abrasives to pull fine dust away before it can escape into the room.
  • AutoClean (AC) Technology: Our specialized dust extractors feature an integrated mechanical filter-shaking system. This automatically pulses the main filter clean every few seconds, ensuring zero loss of suction power while handling heavy drywall dust.

In many cases, yes. Send us clear photos of the damaged area and we can usually provide an estimate after a quick conversation. If we need to see the damage in person, we’ll schedule a visit.

Most small drywall and ceiling repairs can be completed in one working day. Some repairs need to dry overnight before priming and painting, depending on the size of the repair and the materials used.

Not always. Many clients arrange access ahead of time. If needed, we can provide a lockbox for the key. We lock up when we leave and treat your home with care.

Yes. After the damaged area is repaired, we can blend the ceiling texture, remove existing texture, apply a different texture, or finish the ceiling flat. We can also paint the ceiling if that is part of the repair.

Yes. For smoke-stained or discoloured ceilings, we usually recommend removing the affected texture, applying a stain-blocking primer, and finishing the ceiling with new texture or paint. Painting over old texture can work in some cases, but it may make future repairs more difficult.

Each step of our repair process is designed to control dust before it spreads. We mask off the work area, use dust-extraction tools, HEPA vacuums, floor protection, and drywall sanding equipment that captures dust as it is created.

In most cases, no. We take steps to protect the repair area and reduce dust throughout the job. We vacuum during and after the work, protect nearby floors and furniture, and mask off vents in the work area when needed.

Yes. DustEase provides a two-year workmanship warranty. If an area we repaired cracks, delaminates, or has another workmanship issue within two years, we’ll return and fix it at no charge.
