Embarrassing Stains

Difficult to Repair

You’re not a Drywall Pro

Our rotating drywall sanding head captures dust as we repair your ceiling water stain.

We repair your ceiling water stains and damaged drywall to look new again. Our dustless repair system captures and controls dust as it is created. This keeps your home and the air you breathe clean.

Nobody likes the look of ugly ceiling water stains. Especially if company is coming.

It’s not easy to repair drywall – especially on your ceilings. Plus, it’s messy. Do-it-yourself repairs often go unfinished.

Avoid uneven finishes, colour differences, and dust flying everywhere. Make your drywall repairs disappear.

Unless you hire a pro, ugly water stains will remain, and be embarrassing every time you see them. They’re not easy to fix, with DIY results often looking sub-par due to lack of tools or skill.

Finishing your ceiling takes considerable skill and specailised equipment, like the team at DustEase has.

DustEase Drywall Repairs and Home Improvements is licensed, insured with liability, carries WCB, and is a trusted member of the BBB (police background checks included). Additionally, the owner/operator Ed, is a certified Water Damage Restoration Technician (issued by the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration).

We’re led by Edmund Knude. His decades of experience spans residential and commercial improvements. Ed has overseen commercial tenant improvements as a site superintendent for AvisonYoung Project Management Services. He’s no stranger to drywall and construction dust; it spreads, even when work areas are hoarded off.

DustEase uses the Festool Planex drywall sanding system to capture 95% of dust created, prior to it becoming airborne. Ed says it’s pretty much magic, making dust just disappear. Each step in our repair process follows the goal of reducing and capturing drywall dust. Frequently Asked Questions

We have enough experience to provide pricing to you after seeing a picture of the damage.  A quick chat to fill in the details and we can get you an accurate price.

Most often drywall repairs can be performed in one day with the use of quickseting drywall compound. Repairs need to dry at least overnight prior to priming and painting.

Not at all. Many of our clients leave us a key. We can provide a lockbox for the key if needed. We will be sure to lock up and treat your place with respect.

You bet we can. Once any ceiling water stains are repaired, we can remove existing texture and either apply a different one, or take your ceiling to a flat finish. We can paint your ceiling as well.

When ceilings are discolored from cooking or smoking, we recommend that we remove the ceiling texture in that ceiling area, apply a stain blocking paint, and reapply a new texture.  As an alternative ceiling texture can be painted but it does make it more difficult and costly to service in the future.

Each step of our drywall repair process is designed to minimize the amount of dust created. From cutting, to patch installation, to taping, and finishing, we use specialized tools and tequniques to minimize the amount of dust created. When it comes to drywall sanding, a 2016 NIOSH Health Hazard Evaluation (HHE) found that rotational drywall sanders in combination with dust extraction creates 95% less dust than traditional hand sanding. No.  We take all sorts of precautions to minimize dust and debris in your living space. Some of these include:

  • We vacuum thoroughly with our HEPA dust extractors during and at the end of each visit.
  • When we use our special drywall saw it is always hooked up to our dust extractors.
  • Drywall sanding is done with our dustless drywall system.
  • We hoard off each area around the repair areas and protect the floor underneath it. As well, we cover furniture close to the areas with poly sheeting.
  • HVAC supply and returns in the work area are masked off to prevent the spread of what little dust is created.
  • Floors between the entrance to your home and the repair area are protected

Our work automatically comes with a two-year warranty. If areas that we have worked on crack, delaminate, or have other workmanship issues, within two years after we complete your work, we will come back and fix the issues at no charge to the customer.

Success Stories

An elderly man living in Patterson Heights suffered from chronic breathing issues. We addressed that.

Ken and his wife were experiencing water damage to their ceilings. First, the water sources were assessed and fixed. Throughout the repair process, we controlled and captured drywall dust and maintained Ken’s comfort. Both Ken and his wife were delighted with the results, all while experiencing clean air throughout the job.
